Will the bot give legal advice?
No — that's the practice of law, and the bot is hardcoded to never do it. It answers about your practice areas, free consultations, location, fees structure (contingency vs. flat vs. hourly if you've configured it), and captures intake details (name, contact, brief case description) so your team can follow up. It NEVER opines on a specific case, predicts outcomes, or quotes settlement values.
Can it screen out clients I don't want?
Configure "Topics to Avoid" in Settings → Chatbot to block practice areas you don't handle (e.g. "criminal defense" if you're estate-only). Visitor asks about a blocked area → bot says "That's outside our practice area — happy to refer you elsewhere." Saves you the time of disqualifying-on-call.
What about urgent situations — just got arrested, restraining order needed?
The bot recognizes urgent legal situations and surfaces your office phone immediately, with a fallback to a local legal aid hotline if it's after hours. It does NOT try to capture a long intake form when someone needs help fast. For genuine emergencies (active arrest, imminent court deadline within 48h), it strongly recommends calling immediately.
How does the bot handle confidential information?
Visitors voluntarily share what they share — the bot captures it and stores it in your dashboard, encrypted at rest. We don't ask for sensitive case details proactively (medical history, party names, settlement amounts); we ask for contact info + brief description, then your team gets the rest in a confidential conversation off-platform. Does it work for solo practices vs. multi-attorney firms?
Both. Solo practices use the standard config. Multi-attorney firms can configure routing in Settings → Team — assign new leads to specific attorneys based on practice area, set up notification cascades so the right person sees the right case fast. Pro plan supports custom routing rules.
What if a potential client wants to call instead of chat?
